Abstract

The stabilisation of the key parameters of carbohydrate (glucose and pyruvate concentration) and energy (creatine phosphate content) metabolism under intense physical activity of laboratory mice after a single oral preload of Hericium erinaceus extract at a dose of 100 mg/kg was experimentally confirmed. A complete prevention of the development of stress hypoglycaemia and normalisation of creatine phosphate content in the skeletal muscles of experimental animals, compared to the corresponding parameters in animals of the control group, was established. The adaptogenic effect of H. erinaceus exceeded the same effect of an adaptogen with proven efficacy – succinic acid, which was used as a comparison drug. The results obtained allow us to consider preparations of H. erinaceus as promising drug for the correcting of metabolic shifts during intense physical activity.
