Abstract

The article shows the trace left by the ancient Jewish community of Armenia in the internal life of the country. The article examines the role of the Jewish community of Armenia in the socio-economic development of the country and the issues of demography of Armenia, including the population of the country in the 4th century. The place of the Jewish population in the economic development and prosperity of the ancient Armenian kingdom is revealed. It is determined that the economic activity of the Jews was highly valued by all Armenian rulers, starting with the kings of the Orontid dynasty. It is noted that in the future, the activities of the Jews in Armenia expanded, contributing to the development of the country. In this regard, Arshak II could not come to terms with the migration of Jews from Armenia which served as one of the reasons for the suicide of the Armenian king.
