Proliferation of associated capital in Belarus in the late XIX – early XX century

This article examines the process of the associated capital’s proliferation in Belarus in the late XIX – early XX century. Data for analysis come from legal and statistical sources of the Russian Empire. The basic forms of associated capital in Belarus were revealed: trading houses (full and limited partnerships), joint stock companies and corporations. Legal basis of
the activity within all of the identified types of business was analyzed. Main directions of the associated capital’s application during analyzed period are determined. Research results include characteristics of changes in number of companies using different business types in the industrial, trading and credit spheres in Belarus in the late XIX – early XX century.
