Sports journalism in the Japan media system: formation and development

The formation and development of sports journalism, an important segment of modern Japanese media, is traced. The features of sports information of traditional types of Japanese media are considered, the impact of the Internet on sports journalism is analyzed. Based on the scientific publications of Japanese researchers, the demand for sports information by the audience is determined, the role of sports journalism in enhancing the image of Japan and in expanding of its international relations is also revealed.
