Keywords:
civil society, constitutional state, сivil society and the media, state, democratic processesAbstract
The article is devoted to the peculiarities of the development of conceptual provisions of the Belarusian theory of civil society. The main points of view of Belarusian scientists on the concept of «civil society» are reflected. Reveals the relationship of this category with the national mentality, spiritual and moral values, the ideology of the Belarusian state. The characteristic features of the Belarusian model of civil society are defined as the affirmation of the ideals of humanism and universal human values, the high level of legal awareness, political culture and social interaction of citizens, the development of economic, cultural and other spheres of the society, the availability of a free information field. The special role of mass media in the process of consolidation of society and the formation of civil society is underlined. The task of the media today is to promote partnership between the authorities and the society, create an attractive image of civil society in the mass consciousness, and strengthen the spiritual and moral foundations of society. It is through the media that a public discussion of the most important issues of the relationship between the state and non-state spheres occurs, which, in turn, leads to an objective increase in the importance of mass communication during the development of civil society.
