The author pays special attention to the growing tendency to view news on mobile devices, to the increase of the share of visual content in online media, to the use of game elements in the practice of creative activity. The role of the audience in the production of journalistic content in the conditions of a radical transformation of the ways of access to information is shown. Obvious changes are demonstrated in the work of journalist and journalistic profession and the online media sector connected with the growth of convergent processes. Taking into account the new structure of media consumption and the changing nature of mass communications, conceptual approaches to the change in editorial management are considered.
