The author’s experience of developing computer disciplines for training students of the faculty of journalism of the Belarusian State University is considered. It is emphasised that in connection with the active transformation of technologies and practices for the production of multimedia content, a journalist needs the ability to effectively and efficiently use the advantages of various formats of information presentation, as well as an understanding of the peculiarities of the language of mass communication. The article substantiates the position that when training a modern specialist, it is necessary to pay attention to both content convergence and the convergence of the principles and methods of work of a journalist and a communication specialist. Examples of the active use of project-type heuristic tasks and distance learning technologies during the educational process at the faculty of journalism, which is based on the principles of Internet education of a creative type, are given.
