Screen travel journalism and travel blogging: genesis and comparative analysis.

The article explores the definition of on-screen travel journalism and travel blogging. The functions of travel journalism, its genre diversity, the origin and formation of travel journalism on Russian television are analysed. Various classifications of travel blogs, their characteristic features, similarities and differences between a professional journalist and a blogger are considered. Based on the content analysis of the most popular issues of the program «Orel i reshka» and A. Ptushkin’s blog, the structure of the issues of the program and blog, their strengths and advantages over competitors are revealed.
