Speech mask strategies in communicative space of entertainment television

The addresser is the central component of communicative space. In entertainment television space, the communicative construction of an institutional personality is carried out through the communicative strategies of speech mask. The author (journalist) also implements the role-mask through semiotically diverse patterns. A range of tactics, verbal and non-verbal means explicate the strategies of two groups: entertaining and communicative-regulatory strategies of speech mask. The purpose of this study is to identify the repertoire, tactical and strategic features of speech mask strategies in entertainment television discourse. The strategies of the first group are based on linguistic jokes, humour, entertainment, play, modelling hedonistic emotions, as well as shocking on the general background. The purpose of the second group is to regulate and direct the communicative interaction between the author and the addressee, to ensure emotionalisation of communication, to model a benevolent, friendly stylistic tone in communicative television space. It is revealed that speech mask strategies shape the composition of an entertaining media text according to two recurrent models: sporadic (attraction) and unfolding.
