Characteristics of media consumption of the millennial and zoomer generations in Belarus

Abstract

The age and sex composition of representatives of the generations of millennials and zoomers in Belarus is given. The most frequently used by generations Y and Z are social networks, instant messengers are singled out. The specificity of the influence of social media on the use of traditional media by young generations as a source of information is outlined. A detailed analysis of the results of a written survey conducted in 2018, 2020, and 2021 with 2742 respondents under the age of 30 is given, on the basis of which the features of media consumption of millennials and zoomers are formed.
