Abstract

The author of the article defines the trends in the content modeling of the Belarusian press for children, and also identifies the features of the genre-thematic organisation of periodicals intended for preschoolers, junior, middle and senior schoolchildren in the 21st century. Basing on a content analysis of children’s newspapers and magazines, the specifics of modification of the complex of genre and thematic resources of the Belarusian press for children’s audiences in the diachronic section of the 2000s are reflected. In the group of periodicals for preschoolers and primary schoolchildren a wide distribution of gaming and entertainment content was revealed. The content model of newspaper and magazine media for middle and high schoolchildren is represented by two key genre and thematic blocks that are entertaining and socio-political. It has been established that the content structure of children’s publications reveals the secondary nature of the culturally specific literary, artistic and socio-political component, its uneven objectification by genre-thematic media.
