Convergent journalism in the processes of transformation of the modern media sphere
Keywords:
convergence, convergent journalism, multimedia content, digitalisation, transformation of media sphere, distribution of information products and servicesAbstract
The transformations taking place in modern journalism in the context of the development of digital technologies and qualitative and quantitative changes in the virtual space are analysed. The most significant consequence of these processes is the transition of traditional journalism to a convergent business model. The main characteristics of convergent journalism which combines elements of various genres and formats, as well as the specifics of distribution of information products and services, are studied. Examples of successful implementation of convergent projects and their impact on the audience are considered. The necessity of training specialists capable of working effectively in the conditions of rapid changes in society and high competition is emphasised. Prospects for further transformations in the media space and the role of convergent journalism in these processes are explored.
