Evolution of the genre of commentary in Chinese television journalism

The evolution of the genre of commentary in Chinese television journalism is considered. Periodisation of the history of commentary is established on the example of Chinese television programmes. The paper analyses the development of language and format of material presentation in author’s television programmes, as well as ways of expression of author’s opinion. It is expected that in the future, Chinese author’s television programmes will continue to maintain a high level of content quality, strengthen viewer interaction and use online platforms to disseminate their content.
