Development of popular science journalism in China

The development of popular science journalism in China on the example of articles of the newspaper «People’s Daily» is considered. Popular science articles (1616 articles) published from 1978 to 2020 are studied. Four key stages in the development of the popular science article genre in China are highlighted. The main features of the content of popular science articles are revealed.
