Abstract

Main tendencies of transition of the media to new principles of functioning under conditions of mobile changes are  reflected. The role of mobile Internet in the transformation of media space and professional competences of the journalist is shown. The analysis of the digital strategies of the leading online media in Belarus in terms of digitalization and the  changing media consumption is given. The paper provides some data about the actual level of mobile technology expansion  in Belarus, examines the most successful mobile sites of online mass media in the country and makes an attempt to forecast  their prospects for development. It is emphasized that the development of mobile devices and the transition of mostly active  audience from desktops to smartphones has led to substantial changes in the traditional media. The study registers a crisis  of print media and the constant growth of social media which shifted into a special type of media space. It analyzes how  mobile technologies affect the text and format of their presentation. The study of several sites reveals that one of the most  important factors in the development of journalism on the Internet has become a visualization. The creation of content for  mobile devices is considered as a special kind of creative activity of journalists in multimedia.
