Keywords:
discourse, type of discourse, institutional type, discourse practice, text, linguistic and extralinguistic featuresAbstract
The article considers the notion of «discourse» in its ontological aspect. Different definitions of this phenomenon are given: from the notion of «speech» to the «complex communicative phenomenon» as well as approaches to its study in understanding of representatives of different scientific schools and directions. Besides, a contemporary condition of discourse in science is defined. Discourse is researched in its narrow and broad contexts: from a single communicative event to a complex of thematically related texts. Features, functions and the structure of discourse are described. Distinctions as well as identification between the notions of «text» and «discourse» are also described. Attention is paid to the classification of discourse and definition of its types.
