Specificity of the information and analytical article on the subject «terrorism» (based on the materials of media texts of the Belarusian mass media)
Keywords:
terrorism, mass media, media textAbstract
Terrorism is presented as a major problem for the world community. An increase in the number of media texts devoted to this phenomenon is noted. It is revealed, that today strict demands are put forward to journalists, who write about the activities of radical organizations. Based on the materials of the main mass-market Belarusian printed mass media, which are highly trusted by the audience, the analysis of the lexical and phraseological features of information and analytical media texts is carried out. It is revealed that the expression of the journalist’s opinion and evaluation, which is achieved through the use of a large number of stylistic devices, as well as idiomatic constructions, is typical for an information and analytical article on «terrorism» subject in a social and political edition. An extensive use of usually and cliched word combinations and words with negative connotations is observed in the materials of the studied print media. It is proved that both messaging and influential functions with priority given to the second aspect over the first are implemented in media texts of the Belarusian media on the «terrorism» subject.
