Phenomenon of transmedia in the mass information process

The present article is concerned with the range of application of the terms «transmedia» and «crossmedia» in modern practice of research on convergence processes in the media sphere. The paper reviews studies, devoted to the history of formation of the abovementioned definitions and the specifics of their usage. It is being noted that the research vocabulary of the considered field of the studies is not sustainable, that leads to differences in understanding the transmedia storytelling.
