Transformation of the private sector of the education system in China: trends and risks

Abstract

The reform of the private sector of the Chinese education system is considered by the leadership of the People’s Republic of China as a priority area of state activity in the field of education, designed to solve several important social tasks: ensuring equal, fair access for all citizens to higher education, stimulating families to increase the birth rate by reducing the cost of educating one child, freeing students from excessive academic loads, standardisation of education. The article reveals the reasons for reforming the system of additional private education in China; the main proposed changes in the field of education are analysed.
