Tendencies and peculiarities of humanisation of foreign-language education development at the Belarusian State University from 1961 to 1991 (to the 105th anniversary of the university’s foundation)

Abstract

Carried out a retrospective analysis of the development of foreign-language education at the Belarusian State University in the context of increasing processes of humanisation of education. On the basis of collected archival data, the humanistic context of foreign language education at BSU in 1961–1991 is considered, related to the change of the role of foreign languages in the development of the state and society and with substantial progress in research and educational-methodological aspects. Proposed chronicle of foreign language education in the BSU and analysis of the trends, characteristics and problems in its development during the identified period from the perspective of humanisation, are intended to promote further forward-looking development of the system in the context of a humanistic paradigm.
