Mythopoetical basis of the poetry of W. B. Yeats

The early works of Irish poet William Butler Yeats are analysed in the article in the mythopoetic aspect. Prerequisites of the poet’s recourse to the Celtic mythology are considered and the specific features of the formation of his artistic system are characterized. In the article the ways of author’s mythologization and the meaning of the myth as a stable artistic element and a method of the conceptualization of the reality are defined. The topos of the Holy Land of Ireland is analysed, which appears in three early collections and which is the main topos for creating and comprehension of William Butler Yeats’ «own mythology».
