The image of the city in Czech poetry of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries

The author examines the image of the city in Czech literature of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries on the example of the work of significant figures of Czech prose and poetry. A review of Czech prose devoted to urban theme is given, the main motifs of which are reflected in the poetry of the early 20th century. Among the authors of Czech poetry, written at the turn of the centuries, decadents, anarchist rebels and symbolists are singled out. The texts of this period, belonging to German-speaking writers of Czech and Jewish origin and containing their view of the image of Prague, are studied.
