Illustrated by the example of German modern poetry, the archetextual role of the Bible, its lyrical books mainly (The Book of Psalms, The Lamentations, The Song of Songs, Ecclesiastes), is explored in the process of the development of the national poetic tradition and the formation of religious, philosophical, civil and love lyrics.
