Abstract

The article presents L. Ropolyi’s philosophy of the Internet, which contains four interrelated parts: the philosophical definition of the essence of the Internet, the description of the «reformation» of knowledge, the grounding of the Internet as a postmodern technology and the basis for a new sphere of human existence – web life. Concepts that define the essence of the Internet are a system of technology, a cultural medium, a participant in communication, an independent organism. «Reformation» of knowledges is associated with radical individualization and pluralization in their creation and use. Such common features unite the postmodern and the Internet, such as plurality, fragmentation, virtuality, opposition to power, individuality, etc. Above all, web life, is expressed in the organization of a personal network, the participation in communities, the creation and maintenance of cyberculture.
