Abstract

The article presents the results of a study of the cognitive-affective factors of escapism in students, which were considered emotional intelligence, emotional creativity, emotional and intellectual personality traits as part of R. Kettellʼs 16 PF questionnaire, as well as self-acceptance and acceptance of others. For data processing, the criteria of U Mann – Whitney and H of Kruskal – Wallis, as well as multiple regression analysis, were used. No significant differences in the severity of escapism due to gender and specialty of the respondents were revealed. It was found that at all its stages, escapism in students was facilitated by a combination of low rates of self-acceptance and acceptance of others with weakly expressed conscious self-efficacy in the field of emotions (i. e., the reflective representation of the individual about his ability to understand and control emotions), and also with high emotional sensitivity and anxiety. No influence was revealed on escapism of interpersonal emotional intelligence, instrumental Emotional Intelligence and its components, instrumental emotional creativity, components of reflective emotional creativity (preparedness, effectiveness and authenticity), intellectual factors of the 16 PF test: B (reasoning), M (abstractedness), N (privateness), Q1 (openness to change), as well as Q4 (tension). The hypothesis was partially confirmed.
