This article provides a historical and philosophical analysis of the transformation of the aesthetic education system at the Belarusian State University throughout the 20th and early 21st centuries. Key stages of its development are identified: 1) the formation of the foundations of aesthetic education within the framework of the cultural policy of the Soviet period (1920–50s); 2) the development of a professional philosophical and aesthetic school (1960–80s) and the methodological pluralism of the post-Soviet period; 3) the creation of a contemporary integrated model that responds to the challenges of globalisation and digitalisation. For the first time, a periodisation of the development of aesthetic education at the Belarusian State University based on the types of scientific rationality (classical, non-classical, post-non-classical types) is proposed, which reveals the internal logic of methodological changes. The characteristics of the modern integrated model of aesthetic education implemented at the faculty of philosophy and social sciences are formulated. The role of various Belarusian State University faculties in aesthetic education is demonstrated, in particular the contribution of the faculty of philosophy and social sciences and its department of philosophy of culture.
