Blended learning in higher school: from the experience of testing a heuristic class

Abstract

The present article is devoted to the issue of blended learning in the higher educational establishment. Theoretical part reveals the background of transforming traditional educational system into a distant one based on electronic resources and self-education. The article describes the main models and features of such learning. Practical part discovers applied aspects of blended learning taking as example an English class. The chosen topic is «The British monarchy», which allowed a problem task motivating creativity of students to be included into an intramural-distant dialogue between students. The class is described in detail according to its stages the last of which is devoted to the feedback of emotions experienced while completing the tasks. Conclusion overviews the main results of using the form of blended learning in English teaching process.
