Abstract

The article discusses the problems of the disciplinary and scientific status of сulturology and cultural studies. Culturology has become one of the priority sciences and academic disciplines in the social and humanitarian space and education. Its role and place are largely determined by the historical, cultural and ideological changes in Europe and the world that occurred after the World War II, including in intercultural, interethnic relations, as well as at the turn of the 20–21 centuries. However, there are many debatable issues that remain open, requiring attribution and categorization. Among them is the problem of the correlation of сulturology and cultural studies, other fields of knowledge, the subject of which is culture.
