B. Pasternak, Georgia, translationAbstract
The article emphasizes the special importance of the personality and creativity of B. Pasternak for Georgian translators, which is due to the poet’s long-term occupation with translations of Georgian lyrics and personal contacts with Georgia in general and, in particular, with Georgian poets and their families. In theoretical terms, the author suggests the impossibility of poetic translation. Every new reading is a new reading that gives rise to new impressions. It fills the world with fresh thoughts and pushes the language to new horizons. The same opinion about the translation was held by B. Pasternak himself. The author analyzes the rich material, which consists of poems, letters and memoirs of the characters of B. Pasternak’s world, with the help of which he interprets the motives, interpersonal relations and civic values in the life and work of B. Pasternak.
