Transgression of modernist code in Lev Agibalov’s design
Keywords:
ирония в дизайне, modernist code, transgression, plastic concept, female image, frivolity, irony in designAbstract
The paper examines the dynamics of the plastic code of Lev Agibalov’s design from rationalistic design models of the All-Union Scientific Research Institute of Industrial Design (1980s) to the formation of an actual «free image» that combines a functional concept with allusions of femininity, frivolity, and tactile comfort. Irony is considered as a project strategy. Interpretation of design systems for housing (1980s), living interiors and plastic manifestations of the 1990s–2010s.
