The idea of socio-cultural synthesis in Belarusian philosophical thought at the beginning of the 20th century

The author analyses the philosophical essays of Ignat Kanchjewski (Abdziralovich) «The eternal way (studies of the Belarusian worldview)» (1921) and Uladzimir Samoila (Sulima) «Win with this!» (1924). It is shown that from the point of view of domestic thinkers of the beginning of the last century the Belarusian culture has historically developed under the influence of both Eastern and Western types of culture. However, if I. Kanchjewski believed that this impact was not only negative but also positive, in terms of U. Samoila, it was mostly negative, as a result of which on Belarusian soil there was not a dialectical synthesis of Eastern (embodied in Russian culture) and Western (embodied in Polish culture) sociotypes, but their mutual denial. Accordingly, this synthesis is very important about I. Kanchjewski, it is possible to unite all the best of these cultures, and its role in the formation of a unique Belarusian sociotype is exaggerated about U. Samoila.
