In this article, based on the methodological foundations developed by the author, the life strategies of the sociocultural behavior of residents of the territories affected by the Chernobyl accident are studied. Life strategies of sociocultural behavior in modern society are pure (ideal) types of behavioral strategies of agents having different capitals and making their choice in life situations of a particular field, which is more or less sociocultural. In other words, behavioral strategies are formed and manifested in life situations in various fields, for instance economic, political, etc., each of them is more or less sociocultural. Statistical analysis of a sociological study of residents of the Chernobyl-affected territories allowed us to develop an empirical typology of residents of contaminated territories by the degree of sociocultural activity, as well as to prove that the higher sociocultural activity of respondents, more effective and diverse their labor motivation, including not only material, but also professional labor criteria, the higher efficiency of economic behavior, determined by the level of satisfaction with their work and its components.
