Abstract

It is noted that the school education system is a reflection of the processes occurring in the political, economic and cultural spheres of society, which is why educational topics are of particular interest to sociologists. Materials from Soviet cinema can serve as a tool for studying social processes in the context of education. An attempt is made to analyse films from the USSR era devoted to this topic through the prism of sociological theoretical triangulation (based on the theoretical developments of E. Durkheim, M. Foucault and J. Dewey). It is concluded that Soviet cinema conveyed ideas and attitudes that were important for the state and reflected the course of basic social processes. The materials of the article expand the range of studies of Soviet cinema and systematise information about the role of school education in the formation of public consciousness in the era of the USSR.
