Abstract

It is noted that sociological research is an effective way of understanding reality. It provides an opportunity for a specialist in any field of activity to assess the social consequences of their actions and reduce the likelihood of error. The issues of preparation and psychological content of the process of sociological research are considered. The analysis of ideas about the possibilities of sociological science in the use of psychological techniques to improve the processes of interviewing and questionnaire survey through preliminary psychological training and briefing of questionnaires is carried out. Attention is focused on the psychological mechanisms of the interviewer’s behaviour in the process of interaction with the interviewee, as well as on the psychological basis of the respondent’s response to contact with the sociologist and his desire to obtain information on a specific problem.
