Abstract

Modern theories of everyday life in the European sociology are considered. The uniqueness of the search for an explanation of the everyday world is shown, which is determined by the methodological traditions characteristic of the sociology of a particular country. A historical and sociological analysis of the concepts of everyday life is carried out, aimed at identifying the importance of methodological foundations for the formation of the following areas: the theory of social imaginary analysis (C. Castoriadis), the theory of sensory analysis (P. Sansot), the theory of violent analysis (J.-L. Baudry), the theory of aesthetic analysis (M. Maffesoli), the theory of game analysis (R. Caillois), the theory of material analysis (B. Latour) and the theory of multiple modes (L. Boltanski, L. Thévenot) in French sociology, hermeneutical sociology of knowledge (H.-G. Soeffner), sociolinguistic approach (R. Hitzler, H. Knoblauch) and frame-selection theory (H. Esser) in German sociology, as well as the theory of social existence and visual sociology in Polish sociology (P. Sztompka).
