The questionnaire, which was carried out using computer tablets, included such sections as education and living conditions of the respondent; his parents and parents’house; history of partnerships, births and upbringing of children; composition and organization of the household; relations and support systems; reproductive function; health and wellness; activity and income of the respondent and his/her partner; value orientation and life position of respondents; as well as plans for the next three years related to possibility of giving birth to (one more) child, preservation or change of marital status, and living conditions. This article discusses the main features of the survey, such as large range; longitudinal character; volume and age structure of the sample; innovativeness of methodological approaches to data analysis; combination of micro- and macro-levels; the possibility of international comparative studies allowing to solve complex tasks of determining nature and measurement rate of main demographic processes, revealing the trends of changes in Belarusian family in the postwar years.
