The article discusses the basic principles and the current state of functioning of the World Trade Organisation as an international institution. The measures taken for Belarus’ accession to the World Trade Organisation are described and the expected benefits and risks are analysed, taking into account Belarus’ membership in the EAEU in the context of ensuring the economic security of the Republic of Belarus.
