The Union State: analysing the effectiveness of integration of Russia and Belarus

The links between the economies of Russia and Belarus within the framework of the Union State are investigated. The mutual influence of their GDP, trade flows and investments is considered. The results show a deep connection between the countries, participating in the union. Particular attention is paid to the impact of import operations and investment activities on GDP, as well as the ability of the economies to withstand external shocks. The novelty of the study is the development of original econometric models, demonstrating the sustainability of integration processes to global crises and sanctions pressure.
