The comprehensive assessment of the contribution of the Belarusian construction industry to the development of the national economy

Abstract

This study describes the impact of the construction industry on the development of the national economy of the Republic of Belarus based on the analysis of data from the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus. The period of the analytical study covers the years 2011–2019 and is due to significant changes in the legislative and economic policy of the state. The analysis data includes the following indicators: the contribution of the construction industry to the GDP of the Republic of Belarus, the number of people employed in the construction industry, dynamic investment in construction and installation projects, growth rate and updates of building fixed assets, performance indicators of the building organisations, contract work growth rates by regional and Minsk «building» activities types. This study is a summary of the current trends in the construction industry of the Republic of Belarus, due to macroeconomic and socio-political changes in the country.
