Abstract

The article deals with socio-cultural factors which actualize the entrepreneurial transformation of the contemporary university in terms of the fourth industrial revolution. The directions, peculiarities and problems of functioning and development of entrepreneurial universities are identified. The author gives examples of the models of universities 3.0 which are implied on the basis of universities in Belarus and other countries. The increasing importance of traditional university values such as teaching, upbringing, socialization and research are based. The strengthening role of socio-cultural function of entrepreneurial universities and the objective necessity of a transition from university 3.0 to university 4.0 under contemporary terms are underlined. Basic approaches to the modernization of the educational process, implementation of which reinforces the social function of entrepreneurial universities are defined.
