Creative activity of a journalist in the conditions of media convergence

Abstract

The article contains analytical review of the literature in which the issues of creative activity of a journalist are researched and described taking into consideration the processes of media convergence. It is mentioned that today work of a journalist has its own peculiarities concerning texts production as well as interaction with the audiences. A journalist is represented as a discursive personality, the main characteristics of this personality are defined. The article states, that in the space of the internet environment journalists have more opportunities to demonstrate their creative potential and solve problems more effectively and faster due to such characteristics of the internet as interactivity, openness, vertuality, and absence of space and time restrictions. It is stated that the development of informational technologies and their implementation in the professional sphere of journalism influenced the creative activity of a journalist: its planning, organization and optimization; search for new ways of work with information, its presentation and different ways of submission using new genres and formats of convergent journalism; appearance of new professions; changes both in the content of convergent media based on requests of the audience and in the ways of interaction with it.
