Journalist’s activity in extreme situation: problems of traumogenicity and stress resistance

The concepts of «emergency» and «extreme situation» are justified. The purpose of the study is to determine the features of journalists activities in the context of modern challenges, such as the global coronavirus pandemic. The relevance of the topic is determined by the need for a new scientific understanding of journalistic activity in the current situation, which the world is experiencing for the first time. Special attention is paid to the issues of professional stress tolerance in a crisis. The author addresses the issue of the level of traumagenic journalistic text about the emergency situation. When covering critical situations in the media, it is important to maintain a balance between the acceptable level of trauma and objectivity in presenting the truth of the event.
