Press in the formation of priorities of the economic development of the BSSR (1920–30s)

Abstract

The press activities of the economic planning bodies of the BSSR is considered in the context of developing the directions of the economic development of the republic during the 1920–30s. The political and economic conditions that influenced the particularities of determining the ways of economic development have been characterised. The speeches of the leaders of the BSSR and the reports of Soviet scientists that appeared in the press have been analysed. Particular attention has been paid to the study of the activities of the press of economic planning bodies in the process of developing and implementing the five­year plans for the development of the national economy, the role of such publications in identifying the economic potential of the regions of the republic has been characterised.
