First pedagogy textbook in Belarus

Abstract

The article reveals the history of the creation of the first textbook on pedagogy in Belarus – «History of pedagogy» by P. Ya. Pankevich. The features of the textbook, its structure are described in comparison with the pre-revolutionary and Soviet Russian teaching aids on pedagogy. The relationship between the content of the textbook and the political and ideological processes on the territory of Belarus is shown. The significance of the textbook by P. Ya. Pankevich in training teachers for educational institutions of Soviet Belarus in the 1920–30s.
