Features of disease nomination in English, Russian and Chinese

This article shows the relevance of comparative studies in the field of medical terminology in English, Russian and Chinese. It shows features of term creation in the field of medical terminology in the above mentioned languages. It reviews the classification of diseases and attempts to analyze and compare their nomination in English, Russian and Chinese. It also studies the specifics of disease nomination in Russian, English and Chinese. It revealed frequent motivating semes in disease names, and their correlative relevance in each one from the above mentioned three languages.
