Abstract

The article is devoted to one of the important areas of modern knowledge and its practical application – design thinking. The article reconstructs the background and the history of the development of design thinking as a combination of interdisciplinary human-centered approaches. The formation of design thinking discourse was influenced by the psychological research and creative methodology studies, as well as industrial design studies. At the stage of discourse consolidation, there is the institutionalization of design thinking. Design thinking is adapted for business purposes. At this stage, theorists of design thinking turn to the design of services, focusing on the direct cooperation of consumers and developers and ethical responsible design.
