Social and historical background of postmodern culture type in Belarus

Abstract

The historical, social, economic contexts of the formation of the postmodern type of culture in Belarus are considered, its boundaries and specificity are identified. As a key feature, the national context of postmodern culture is explicated, the essence of which is represented in the processes of genesis and development of national sovereignty, solving issues of restoration of historical memory and identity. The relevance of postmodernism as an intellectual and artistic discourse in deconstruction, comprehension of the cultural past and present of Belarus is noted. The analysis of historical events, within the framework of which postmodernity and postmodernism were generated in Belarus, is presented.
