Keywords:

The paper is focused on the development of integration processes in the sphere of higher education of the Republic of Belarus as a response to the needs of modernizing the countryʼs economy and external challenges of globalization. Three main directions of deployment of this integration are analyzed: East Asian, Eurasian (within the framework of the Eurasian economic union) and the European (Bologna process). The prerequisites for the development of each direction of educational integration are determined, and the patterns of their deployment and prospects for the future are deduced, taking into account the state interests of Belarus. The modern state of integration in each direction is revealed. It is proposed to concentrate the primary efforts of the higher education system on the integration with the countries of the Eurasian economic union. The goal of Eurasian integration is to increase the competitiveness of universities in the region at the global level and to increase the quality of education, which fully corresponds to the goals of modernization of Belarusian higher education. Specific steps and ways that can be used to deploy higher education integration are discussed. Particular emphasis is placed on the need to identify best samples for the dissemination of their experience.
