Reconstruction of vegetation and climate of the Center Forest state reserve in the Middle and Late Holocene
Abstract
The results of the study of a new section at a key site in the Central Forest State Natural Biosphere Reserve are presented. The results of the study of the relationship between climate change in the Middle and Late Holocene and the development of the sphagnum-bilberry spruce forest (Picetum myrtilloso-sphagnosum), a typical geosystem for the southern taiga subzone in the East European Plain, are noted. Based on data from spore-pollen analysis and radiocarbon dating of peat deposits, the history of changes in plant communities and climate changes has been restored, and the intensity of bogging processes has been estimated.
