Sociological approach to the analysis of electoral behavior: theoretical and methodological specification
Abstract
The article deals with the theoretical and methodological specifics of the sociological approach to the analysis of electoral behavior. General characteristics of the main theoretical concepts of such researchers as A. Siegfried, F. Gogel, R. Aron, C. Merriam, D. Gosnell, P. Lazarsfeld, B. Barelson, S. Lipset, S. Rokkan and others are given. Positive and the negative grounds for integrating the sociological and socio-psychological approach in view of similar provisions regarding the formation of electoral preferences. The nature of the application of sociological approach to the analysis of electoral preferences in the Republic of Belarus is noted.
